Well, I didn't win. Not even close. But the people have spoken, and I respect their decision.

I believe in our democracy and our system of government. Elections have consequences, and across the country, we've seen voters make their voices heard.

While the outcome wasn't what I had hoped for, I have absolutely no regrets about running. One of the greatest rewards of this campaign was meeting so many wonderful people across southern Vermont, hearing their stories, listening to their concerns, and getting to know the communities that make our state so special.

I love Vermont. I love the people who call it home. And losing an election doesn't change that one bit.

I'm looking forward to getting back to my work in real estate, helping people find homes, sell homes, and hopefully make Vermont a more affordable place to live, one family at a time.

I also plan to find new ways to stay involved in our local communities. Public service doesn't require an elected office.

And I'd like to encourage everyone to do the same. Our local food shelves, community assistance programs, rescue organizations, and nonprofits depend on volunteers. Find a cause that's close to your heart and give a little of your time.

There are many Vermonters struggling right now, and I believe more of our neighbors are going to need a helping hand in the months ahead.

We don't have to agree on politics to agree that we should take care of one another.

To everyone who supported me, encouraged me, volunteered, donated, or simply took a few minutes to have a conversation, THANK YOU. And to those who voted differently, thank you for participating in our democracy.

I'll see you around town. I'm not going anywhere.

Josh Williams

Proud to call Vermont home.
